A longtime mechanical engineer for one of the world's largest petrochemical and nuclear companies, Stephen Boccieri, turned his childhood passion for and near-scratch skills playing golf into solid business. In 1994, he founded Engineered Golf, which offered R&D services to the golf industry. Steve was one of the first engineers to modernly analyze the nuances between different golf-club shafts by profiling and dynamic load testing. Then, for more than three years, he combined his scientific aptitude and spirit to innovate with golfers' biomechanics (human motion) – and the concept and patented technology behind the Heavy Putter was perfected. The Heavy Putter came to market in January 2005. Boccieri is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his engineering degree.
Steve Bollerman has 20 years experience in finance, operations, distribution and management information systems. He was a former principal and CFO of AmCap, Inc., a highly successful real estate investment firm responsible for five million square feet of commercial property. Steve sold his interests in AmCap in 2004 to head up the U.S. operations of 66NORTH, a premium outerwear apparel brand and sister company to Boccieri Golf. In 2005, he was tapped to manage the growth and success of the Heavy Putter. Steve received an MBA from Pace University in 1982 and is a certified public accountant.
Robert Himel contributes to Boccieri Golf five years of experience and perspective from a golf retailer's point of view, as he played an integral role achieving excellent sales at a formidable off-course golf shop in Bedford Hills, New York. His logic, poise, analytics and business acumen make him a serious candidate for "Top 40 under 40" (years of age) golf-industry honors. A lifelong golfer, Robert played four years of Division I golf for The College of William and Mary, where he earned a B.A. in Finance with an accounting concentration.
Since graduating with a marketing degree from Central Connecticut State University, Alan has spent the last 25 years in various management positions. He has extensive experience in sales, marketing and general management activities. Prior to joining Boccieri Golf, for more than 21 years he supervised more than 120 employees as General Manager for an automobile dealer group. In that role, he directed multiple dealerships and was repeatedly recognized for outstanding sales, service and customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining Boccieri Golf, Rich Massey played professional golf for 11 years on the Canadian Tour, South African Tour, South American Tour and, most recently, the Nationwide Tour. He has the distinction of being the first person to medal in a golf tournament using the Heavy Putter when, in 2003, he finished as "low pro" in the highly competitive Metropolitan Golf Association Open Championship. In addition to his professional golf experience, Rich has an accounting degree from Furman University and is a certified public accountant. He previously worked for KPMG, specializing in auditing financial institutions.
